Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the OEC.sh platform and services. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account without notice or refund.
1. Overview
OEC.sh is committed to providing a reliable, secure, and professional hosting environment for Odoo deployments. This Acceptable Use Policy defines the boundaries of acceptable behavior to protect our infrastructure, our customers, and the broader internet community.
This policy applies to all users of OEC.sh services, including account holders, authorized users, and end-users of applications hosted on the platform.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use OEC.sh to host, store, transmit, or distribute:
2.1 Illegal Content
- Content that violates any applicable laws or regulations
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any exploitation of minors
- Content promoting terrorism or violent extremism
- Controlled substances or illegal drug paraphernalia
- Counterfeit goods or fraudulent services
- Pirated software, media, or intellectual property
2.2 Harmful Content
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, or other malicious code
- Phishing pages or credential harvesting sites
- Exploit kits or hacking tools intended for malicious use
- Content designed to harass, bully, or threaten individuals
- Defamatory, libelous, or slanderous content
- Content that incites violence or discrimination
2.3 Infringing Content
- Content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or patents
- Unauthorized use of third-party intellectual property
- Content that violates trade secrets or confidentiality agreements
- Unauthorized distribution of Odoo Enterprise or proprietary modules
2.4 Adult and Explicit Content
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material
- Escort services or prostitution
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not engage in the following activities using OEC.sh services:
3.1 Security Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data
- Probing or testing vulnerabilities without explicit authorization
- Intercepting, monitoring, or sniffing network traffic
- Bypassing authentication or security controls
- Using stolen credentials or unauthorized access tokens
- Deploying backdoors, rootkits, or persistent access mechanisms
3.2 Network Abuse
- Launching denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
- Sending spam, unsolicited bulk email, or phishing emails
- Operating open mail relays or proxy servers
- IP spoofing or forging packet headers
- DNS amplification or reflection attacks
- Port scanning or network reconnaissance of third parties
- Operating Tor exit nodes or anonymization services
3.3 Resource Abuse
- Cryptocurrency mining without explicit authorization
- Running processes that consume excessive CPU, memory, or bandwidth
- Intentionally degrading service for other users
- Using the platform for purposes other than Odoo hosting
- Circumventing resource limits or quotas
3.4 Fraudulent Activities
- Identity theft or impersonation
- Financial fraud or money laundering
- Pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing scams
- Fake reviews or astroturfing
- Click fraud or artificial traffic generation
- Using false information to create accounts
3.5 Harmful Automation
- Automated scraping that violates third-party terms of service
- Botnets or command-and-control infrastructure
- Automated account creation or credential stuffing
- Circumventing rate limits or access controls
4. Email and Communication Standards
If you use OEC.sh for email or communication features:
- Comply with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other applicable anti-spam laws
- Only send emails to recipients who have opted in
- Include accurate sender information and unsubscribe options
- Maintain bounce and complaint rates below industry thresholds
- Honor unsubscribe requests promptly (within 10 business days)
- Do not purchase, rent, or use third-party email lists
5. Data and Privacy Requirements
You are responsible for:
- Complying with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Obtaining proper consent for data collection and processing
- Implementing appropriate security measures for sensitive data
- Notifying affected parties and authorities of data breaches
- Honoring data subject rights requests
- Not storing regulated data (PCI, HIPAA) without appropriate safeguards

6. Software and Licensing Compliance
6.1 Odoo Licensing
- Comply with Odoo Community (LGPL) and OCA module licenses
- If using Odoo Enterprise, maintain valid licenses from Odoo S.A.
- Do not distribute proprietary Odoo code without authorization
6.2 Third-Party Software
- Ensure proper licensing for all third-party modules and dependencies
- Comply with open-source license requirements (attribution, source availability)
- Do not use pirated or unlicensed software
7. White-Label and Reseller Requirements
If you use white-label features to resell services:
- You are responsible for your end-users' compliance with this AUP
- Implement your own acceptable use policies for end-users
- Promptly address abuse reports involving your end-users
- Maintain accurate contact information for abuse handling
- Do not misrepresent the nature of the underlying service

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it immediately:

9. Enforcement
9.1 Investigation
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations, which may include reviewing account content and logs.
9.2 Actions We May Take
Upon finding a violation, we may, at our sole discretion:
- Issue a warning and request compliance
- Temporarily suspend access to the Service
- Remove or disable access to offending content
- Permanently terminate your account
- Report violations to law enforcement
- Cooperate with legal proceedings
9.3 No Refunds for Violations
If your account is terminated for violating this policy, you will not receive a refund for any prepaid fees.
9.4 Appeals
If you believe action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] within 30 days. Include your account information and explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect.
10. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Monitor your account and applications for compliance
- Promptly address any security vulnerabilities
- Keep your contact information current for abuse notifications
- Respond to abuse complaints within 24 hours
- Implement appropriate access controls and authentication
- Regularly backup your data
- Keep your Odoo installation and modules updated
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
